Dependable Staffing is currently hiring experienced Paraprofessionals to work in a self-contained ED classroom for the 2026/2027 school year. Teacher Assistant opportunities are available starting upon completion of onboarding employment process.

Schedule: Monday- Friday 7am-2:30pm

Location, Phoenix, AZ 85004

Classroom: K-2 Grade

Term: 10/2026- 5/21/2027

Position: EDP/ED INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT

Compensation & Benefits

• $20.00 per hour
• Weekly pay
• PST accrual

Position Overview

The Instructional Assistant assists the teachers in a variety of ways to implement the instructional program, including working directly with children in small groups or on a one-to-one basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Additional duties may be assigned.
• Assists teacher as needed with planning, preparation, and distribution of classroom materials.
• Conducts learning games with students according to established procedures.
• Supervision and instruction of children; copying, cutting, coloring, etc., to construct materials and bulletin boards.
• Maintains regular attendance.
• Monitor students as they arrive on school bus
• Accompany and monitor behavior of students in all settings
• Maintains a safe environment for students, conducive to learning throughout the day and deescalating verbally and/or aggressive students using applicable training or coaching techniques as necessary for student, peer and staff safety
• Anticipates and effectively addresses unforeseen crises associated with working with children with emotional and behavior disabilities
• Provides individualized and small-group instruction to reinforce skills that have been taught by the teacher while managing and teaching student behavior
• Serves breakfast, snacks and lunches as necessary (daily, in the classroom, in EDP classes)
• Must be able to physically manage students using applicable techniques when necessary
• Must be able to work as a team with other teachers and staff in the classroom and in EDP/ED program

Qualifications

• Current Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Current First Aid and CPR
• Recent Experience working with children in an education and behavioral health setting, preferably experience working in Special Education Emotional Disabilities classroom.
